Celebrities and Paparazzi

current events

this article

This article is about how Jennifer Aniston is sueing a paparazzo for using a super lenz and taking naked pictures of her while she was changing.
It seems that stories of celebrities sueing are becoming more abundant. Is this an invation of privacy or the price to be paid for being a celebrity? In past months Linsay Lohan got into a car accident due to paparazzi and chasing her for a picture..

Drug Smuggler sentenced to DEATH.

current events

After seeing this article:
here it is
It occurred to me, never smuggle drugs anywhere near Singapore. In this article it reports how an Australian drug smugger was caught smuggling less then 1 pound of heroin into Singapore. In Singapore there is a 0 tolerance policy for drugs. The Australian was sentenced to be hang.

Deadly Kiss

I came across this article crazyyy This article is about how a 15 year old died after kissing her boyfriend. The girl had a peanut allergy and the boy ate peanut butter a while before seeing her. I just could not beleive this story as I read it. So sad and ironic.

tyra banks..............obese?

environment

this article Tyra Banks who is slowly taking over the world, recently just did a segment on her talk show about the hardships of being obese. Tyra went undercover as a 350-pound woman and then went on a series of blind dates. She said that “I started walking down the street and within 10 seconds, a trio of people looked at me, snickered, looked me right in my eye and started pointing and laughing in my face,” the talk-show host said. “And I had no idea it was that blatant.” The talk show host aired the segment while sitting with obese women. Tyra was crying and seemed to be very upset. Yet she was crying into the arms of the obese women upset about what she endured, but all Tyra had to do was strip off the fat suit and then she was a supermodel again. I give Tyra a lot of credit for trying this yet I do not think she should of taken the segment so much to heart and about herself. Because obesity does not affect her, it was affecting the people she was sitting with.

friends with benifits

On May 30th 2004 an article was published in The New York Time Magazine entitled “Friends, Friends With Benefits and the Benefits of the Local Mall” the article
written by Benoit Denizet- Lewis. My mother who was more then appalled, originally drew this article to my attention. The article brought light on the new teenage and collegiate phenomenon of “friends with benefits” which basically means a friend of the opposite sex whom you hookup with regularly but have no relationship with. The article explains:

Frosh 15

healthy food

I know that gaining the frosh 15 was one of my biggest concerns about comming to college. I found and article today on how to avoid the stress eating.
check it

The article speaks about interesting ideas: such as to stay in the light do not eat in the dark, of also the go for more walks. Just check it out--it has some pretty interesting things.

Haloween

Cady: "Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it."- Mean Girls.
This quote proved to be more then true on Saturday when Bryn Mawr had its Halloween parties.
I found a funny article written by two guys from mit that i think sumarizes the college trend of wearing NOTHING.

Ever wonder what you would look like.....

During a normal bryn mawr procrastination night I came across a web site where you can give your self a make over for free. All you have to do is enter your e-mail and then go. Scan in a picture and choose from over 15 hair colors/ like 60 styles. Not only is the website awesome for a new hair do but they also but makeup on your face. Including blush, eyeshadow, lip liner, lipstick and eye liner. Soo much fun. The web site is http://beauty.ivillage.com/makeovers/mom/0%2C%2C8q75%2C00.html

Its bad for A. Coulter when......

On a recent Brad Blog posting he talks about how Ann Coulter is now being shunned by many main stream conservatives. A man by the name of Daniel Borchers is in charge of Citizens for Principled Conservatism. This production group is in mid-production on a documentary, "The Truth About Ann," which purports to out Ann Coulter as a "fake conservative." The group is making claims that she is a modern day McCarthy who is posioning the minds of thousands and thousands of people. Again this is not a Michael Moore documentary rather a documntary done by CONSERVATIVES. I mean you know it is bad for her when her own party is denouncing her. For those of you who are not familar with Ann here are some of her most famous qoutes.

Over the hill: Trick-or-Treating

A few days ago I was on the phone with my 10 year old sister. We were talking about Halloween and all the excitment that comes along with this awesome holiday. My sister is getting braces put on a few days before Halloween so I was joking with her that she had to give me all her candy. Julia then told me that I should go trick-or-treating. She told me that just becuase I am in college does not mean that I am too cool to go trick or treating.

running

Well, I am a athlete and I hate running. I understand that to many this may seem like a paradox but it is the truth. I absolutally hate running. I run all the time to stay in shape for my sport but I despise it. I have tried treadmills, running with music but nothing helps. It is really frustrationg becuase I wish I could really enjoying running more. One of the most frustrating things is that no matter how much running I do or how good of shape I try to get into running is never easy.

home

All my excitment for break came to a halt when i found myself sitting at home bored to death. All i could think about was bryn mawr and how much I missed all my friends. I never really relized how great bmc was until i went home. I dont know about many of you but I really think about how lucky I am. Also when i hear about other schools and their rules and structure I can not think about how happy I am that i go to this school.

Friends?

When I was a child, my parents described, to me, a friend as someone who I played with in my backyard, someone who plays dress-up and a person with whom I watched TV. As I got older the definition of a friend changed. In middle school a friend was someone who I gossiped with, and then in turn gossiped about me. Middle school friendships were full of lies, boy-craziness and pop culture. I accepted this shallow type of relationship as a friendship standard until I realized that a friend could be so much more.

Can you ever succesfully date an ex?

Its easy to admit that falling back in a dating situation is very easy and happens all the time. You know the person so well that their is no need for the "courting" period. But don't you think their is something to be said about a dating laziness that is envoked when re-dating a ex? This does not push you out side of a comfort zone to really make the leap of faith. In addition is re-dating an ex a good idea? Yes in the begining you realize all the wonderful things about each other again.

TV: Our problem road to perfection?

After pondering for a while about what to find a blog on, I decided to write about the media's affect on people's body image. Personally when I am watching TV it is just natural to start feeling insecure with my body. The "teen" tv shows all show case gorgeous people with gorgeous bodies. Dr. Sargent of Baylor College feels that "eating disorders are becoming more popular among our teens.

Mawrters get DESPERATE

Well, after spending another non-eventful weekend at Haverford it occurded to me that WOW haver boys are so socially awkard I can not take it anymore. Lets think, the Haverford men have basically the best situation ever. Many many many women at their disposal. Also many of these women who are beautiful, smart and talented who are constintally lowering their standards for a Haver man. Why are they so awkward? Why cant these men pull their acts together and start socializing in a normal manor? Ahhhh so frustrating sometimes I feel that we are back in the always awkward 7th grade dance mode.

how aweosme this class is

wow woi blogs class is the best class ever! i am so lucky to have laura as my teacher. blogging is my new passion all b.c of laura.. I really love this class. Also our senior audrey is really cool. she is like the big sister i never had. she is my role model. i also love everyone in my class we are like sisters. I mean shannon is my athletic sister. I think we were serpated at birth. I am just so happy.

ritzy's interest......FASHION

blogging

While being at BMC one can definitally feel that they are being left out of the world loop. Ov, many people feel this way with news due to how many people aggrigated sites with something to do with the news. I on the other hand while understand how important the news is seems to be upset that their is a sever lack of up to date fashion knowlege on the BMC campus. This is what attracted me to fashion blogs.

The State of the Blog Part 1,2,3

academics

Being someone who does not know that much about blogs, I decided it would be a good idea to post about the chapters entitled, the state of the blog past, present and future. These 3 chapters are interviews with Evan Williams who’s product was blogger. In blogger past it deatailed how this phemonemon of a blog was really a awesome accident. Orriginally he put blogger up just to have people then upgrade to pyra. Yet blogger caught on and per month was witnessing a 20-40% growth per month. Evan was needless to say more then happy. Blogger present talks about what a blog is to Evan. He says that a blog is 3 things;frequncey, brevity and personality.

my 2nd community

community

I always knew I was jewish because that is what my parents had told me. I went to temple every so often and got gifts on Hanukah. Yet I never really felt that I had my own jewish identity. I never had felt a personal connection with my relgion or had an experiance that made me think wow this is cool. Then I joined NFTY. This stands for the North American Federation of Temple Youth. It is an organization that networks all reform Jewish youth groups. I went to the first event for the organization. All of the services were on guitar, everyone was so warm and loving and accepting. As the years went on I became more and more involved.

Lax LIfe

community

I had played soccer my entire life. Back where i am from soccer is life. Yet I was never very good. I would try my hardest but never succed. So then my parents decided to have me try to play lacrosse. From the first time i picked up a lacrosse stick i just felt something come together. It was a new type of high. I was totally excelling at a sport and it was great. When i got to high school I was the only frosh to make the Varsity team. It was such an amazing feeling. I then entered one of the best communities that I had ever belonged to. I was part of a family that all loved to play lacrosse. The team would always go out to parties or for food. I was truely a great feeling. I am more then thrilled that the commity sense that lacrosse gives me is now being carried out at BMC. I am so lucky to be playing lacrosse for college. I am so excited.

the thing about nalgenes though--is they get so absolutally disgusting... and they can not really be properly washed here.. and the sides get slimy
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-12-06 11:31
that is an interesting article yet what about the damage that coffee does to teeth--
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-11-29 11:11
I think that this reason for a firing is absolutally crazy. Yet it is a private schools and private schools are able to do what they want. I teacher does not even need a teaching degree to teach at a private school.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-11-29 11:03
In my middle school we would play a version of this but it was called the sleeper came and instead of a rope someone choked you. Looking back I can not beleive how dumb this was. There are always new games and stupid things coming out that children do. Just becuase you dont take drugs does not mean you are safe from anything.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-11-29 11:00
who was the robber? was it an irrate parent who didnt get an x-box on black friday? I do not really understand the context of this.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-11-29 10:59
I understand the point that americans love going to the doctors and love taking prescription pills but, if the pills make people feel better so what? If Jane Doe thinks she will get a better grade by taking adderall good for her.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-11-29 00:14
i worked on black friday at american eagle. I can just tell you that the mall is crazy and it is absolutally insane. Black friday is the worst thing ever
by Ritzy Charly on Mon, 2005-11-21 01:05
but what is the actual problem? If people want to take adderall, anti-depresants and other drugs--why not? If the drugs are prescribed and being taken the right way. If a person feels that these drugs help their mental health--then why not? Even if about 9373980753% of it is mental.. More power to them
by Ritzy Charly on Mon, 2005-11-21 01:03
I agree with the concept that these stess methods are nothing new. The trick is-who has the dicipline to actually sit down and abide by them. The same way as to have disicpline and lose weight and what not.
by Ritzy Charly on Thu, 2005-11-17 12:18
being from JERSEY!! we are required by law to take 4 years of a health class. Which is exactally what this class is. It is more then annoying to have to sit and hear the same things over and over. It makes me want to scream.

being someone who has had many friends who worked at lucky brand jeans this does not suprise me at all. lucky is totally known for being a very liberal clothing store. last year they introduced a whole bob dylan line. in addition there clothes always have mushrooms and other hippie like decorations. i dont think there is any reason to get upset about the clothing. lucky is just clothes and can do whatever they want. i for one am a big fan of lucky they do not make any of there clothes in sweatshops.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-11-15 10:58
yes that happens to me alot. What will happen is I will twitch and pull a muscle and it will hurt for the next couple of days very badly. I always think I am going crazy so it is nice to see that this happens to other people.
by Ritzy Charly on Thu, 2005-11-10 12:48
that is a very sketchy survey, it does not show how they got the results and what the results are about,
by Ritzy Charly on Thu, 2005-11-10 12:42
I think this is so totally inapropriate. I mean people should be able to have a safe type space where we can just be goofy and silly and not have to worry about being academic or making good impressions.
by Ritzy Charly on Mon, 2005-10-31 13:47
i think it is awesome that she came out. It is apparent that she is now feeling much more comfortable. I just dont really understand why it is such a huge deal that she came out..I mean it does not change anything
by Ritzy Charly on Mon, 2005-10-31 13:46
i definitally think I see a trend in feminist backlash. I see a trend happening where the word feminist is dirty and that no one wants to be labeled a feminists. All the rights and equalities our forewomen fought for are just flying out the window.
by Ritzy Charly on Mon, 2005-10-31 13:37
lantern night really scared me so bad.....like it was awesome.. but wow so not what i expected
by Ritzy Charly on Wed, 2005-10-26 18:38
schools are really getting hard core out of control with cencering and such. It is getting to the point where I can just not beleive it. There is so much red tape constinitally put up around everything that we can not appriciate much.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-10-25 16:52
i took place in this program once that said everyone should give and get 12 hugs a day. And this way you will feel like a more complete person. I wonder what people at bryn mawr would do if someone just came up to them hugging.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-10-25 16:50
i dont know anymore. I would say about 10 years ago being over 30 was basically the same for women as having a foot in the grave. But now a days with plastic surgery being used a lot older women are looking younger and younger. I mean it seems that 40 year olds : demi moore, teri hatcher ect are looking better then 25 year olds. With shows like desperate housewifes I think it can be said that older women are being more appreciated.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-10-25 16:47
I definially think doft drinks are bad. I remember about 3 years ago I went cold turkey on no more soft drink consumption and now my teeth are better then ever. Which definitally has improved my teeth so much. Also water is just so much better for everyone.
by Ritzy Charly on Tue, 2005-10-25 16:44
i showed like everyone in my dorm their music video! No one can beleive it.. They are really some scary kids. It just shows that parents have such an emnormous imfluence on their children.

Ok being one who is more then OBSESSED with rent, i personally can not wait for rent to come out. I mean I am kind of nervous though becuase movies have tended some time to mess up great broadway shows. I mean some movies like chicago were great and stayed very true to the broadway show. I just hope that rent will be awesome.

I have a dell lab top and it has been nothing but fantastic. I really love my computer and have never had a problem. In fact the dell garentee is really great you can just mail your lab top back and they will send you a new one. I have overall just had a great experiance with dell.

Oh man siblings what an interesting topic. I am the oldest of three girls and it can be so hard. Their is always fighting, taking clothes, arguing about boys. It really seems that the drama never stops. Yet I think people grow so much more by having siblings and peer type interaction from a young age. It really helps shape out social skills as well as learn to deal with many types of situations.
by Ritzy Charly on Mon, 2005-10-24 14:22
I totally agree that younger girls are dressing more scandelous then we used to. But then on the other hand older generations always look down on the younger generations and say that their clothes are getting more and more out of control. SO i really think it is all a matter of perspective. I mean I know when i was in high school the seniors thought as frosh we dressed so out of hand and the same was true when we were seniors. I really think it is just life...

Like many all i had during break was time. So yes indeed mindless reality TV became my calling. I saw the show and was very distrubed by danny. He just seemed so over the top and desperate for TV attention. He goes so far in his show to let the cameras into his therapy session. It was really hard for me to watch the whole show and not feel weird.
by Ritzy Charly on Wed, 2005-10-19 18:37
I think that the rules make sense. I mean his comments are not really for a middle school blogger but someone trying to make more of an impression of acting older. I think that no biographies is a good rule. Because the most succesful and interesting blogs are not just about the people writing them but events as well.

being a jerzey girlie myself I most definitally am bias towards the awesomeness of NYC! No other city can compare. But I dont know if I could go to college in NYC. It is such an overwhelming city plus to do anything is so expensive. Yet I do miss the big apple in all its glory. It is weird to have people call phily "the city". Also in NYC people really never sleep. But in phily it is totally common to find streets that seem empty at around 8 at night. WEIRD!!

hahaha---good idea! I think it is a very interesting notion to get together with our motion ideas. I think that we should have some more fun things to do on the weekends. I live in Radnor and the TV is broken!!! It is our only TV and we need it to work!!! I mean come on! Also in Radnor we have no DVD player which some of the other dorms have!!! Radnor is getting shafted!! BOOO

why all these disgusting polls? I mean honestally these polls are open to the world.. lets just try to act like a website that is trying to get more people. And some of these polls make us look like little 7th graders....

yeha i totally unnderstand you curly q. I mean i know personally I am an athlete also and I alwas same and tech goddess go back and forth on the make up. I wore it so much the begining of my high school career and then never touched it when i was a jr and senior. Now that I find myself being a frosh again I see myself reverting back to some old habits of wearing makeup. And to be honest it is sort-of confussing me. Being someone who has not worn makeup for such a long time and now to be wearing it again. WEIRD
