SNOWBOARDING CLUB!

I am starting a Snowboarding Club! There are three types of people who may want to join the club:

1.) You are already fairly good at snowboarding and you want to go this ski season. You would like to meet other snowboarders and may want to help others learn to snowboard. You want to increase your skill level though peer support and practice.

2.) You sort of know how to snowboard but would like to increase your skill level through peer support and practice. You want to meet others who like snowboarding.

3.) You don’t know how to snowboard but would like to learn through peer support and practice. You want to meet new people and would like to learn more about snowboarding as a sport.

For those in category 1, 2, or 3: Being in this club will get you discounts to the ski resort because we will go with a group and so the group price will apply. We will do a fundraiser to decrease the price of a ski pass for the whole group and may be able to have people who can’t afford to go apply for a sum of money. We also may be able to get snowboards from a company to use for people who can’t afford to rent. We could also see if we can give money to those who are planning on purchasing a snowboard! This club focuses on facilitating the access of snowboarding as a sport and helping people who are serious enough about snowboarding to buy their own equipment.

For those in category 2 or 3: Snowboarding is a fun, exciting, but physically and mentally demanding sport at first! You must have the physical ability to get up if you fall, and you must have the mental ability to think positively and have confidence in yourself! Those in category 1 will support you by helping your skill level and will keep your spirits up! Learning to snowboard can be hard, but we will be there for you! All of us were in your place at one point so we all understand and will help you in any way that we can!

I am also working on getting the club sponsored by a snowboard company and creating a partnership with one of the local ski slopes so that we can get an even better discount on snowboards/equipment and rentals/ski lift tickets.

Leadership positions available: I am looking for a vice president, a secretary, and a treasurer. If you are interested, email me with any information that you think would help facilitate the decision. I need good leaders who are passionate about snowboarding, who are serious about the club, and who are willing to spend lots of time making the club grow! =)
