Food for the Mind

I don’t think I can continue to live in a place that embraces and nurtures apathy as if it was virtue. But I sympathize; I sympathize completely. I mean, it’s easier to loose yourself in drugs than it is to cope with life. You see, it’s easier to steal what you want than it is to earn it. It’s easier to beat a child than it is to raise it. Hell, love costs; it takes effort, work.
-SE7EN (movie)

I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, "Why?" Why did I cause so much pain? Didn't I realize that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness? Can't I see how we're all manifestations of love? I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong. We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens. And God says, "No, that's not right." Yeah. Well. Whatever. You can't teach God anything.
-Chapter 30 of Fight Club

Live, then, and be happy, beloved children of my heart, and never forget that, until the day God deigns to reveal the future to man, the sum of all human wisdom will be contained in these words: wait and hope.
-Edmond Dantes from The Count of Monte Cristo

I love Quotes...

I’ve always loved quotes! Their concrete, concise and powerful. I wish all my readings for my classes were like them.

Some I like:

"Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it." ~ Buddha ~

"It is not length of life, but depth of life." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~
