Blogging blogs and the bloggers who blog them

Secrets

blogging | family

So you're a freshman in college. You've been exposed to tons of things by now including drugs, drinks, and the like. You spend evenings with your friends having fun, the kind you don't want your parents to find out about. You just so happen to have a blog, one with which you post your deepest darkest secrets. No one will ever know about this except the people you tell about it, right?

Well, let's say your parents find your blog one night. They won't tell you how or why. They just call you up and start hinting about things they have no business knowing about. And then it hits you - you're in BIG trouble.

OMG! They know I've been drinking, that I have a boyfriend, that I've going here and there and everywhere! What do you do?

You could change all your posts since they probably didn't read all of it - they were too infuriated to.

You could claim that the blog doesn't even belong to you, that the names of that blogger's friends and college and dorm are entirely coincidental. See, she lives right down the hall this girl that wrote that blog.

Or you could fret and mope and wait for the hurricane to come. Because you know what? You are SO screwed.

Consider this - is it even right for parents to pry into what has been deemed private by their children?

Parents + Blogs = Your in trouble!

It’s time to let go… Parents! The time you have secretly wished for but dreaded is here. Your kids are now adults! And guess what… that means they make their own messes and mistakes and clean them up. So in other words: don’t worry so much! Oh I know I’m being a little disconnected towards the way parents may feel, but I am sorry I have to tell it out straight. Many college students are now adults, weather they like it or not. And that calls for self responsibility, and much more. Parents who read their children’s blogs are not invading privacy. WE should all be smart enough not to have our names on our blogs, and too much personal information, for our own safety (you never know). But a second reason could be that your parents might read them. In the case that they do… you have to deal it out with them, you know what you’re doing… and knew what you did. Next time consider putting it under private blog... that could work better.

Alt Tactic

Actually, I like the tactic of giving your parents the URL to ONE of your legitimate blogs, the one where you don't post so much stuff that is as invasive. You know?

Good Idea...

YES! Very Clever… always works to send them off to the wrong place… LOL. Unless some how they google you, and there come all your blogs!

That's why i havent told my

That's why i havent told my parents the link for this blog...

My best friend's dad knew

My best friend's dad knew she had a blog and did some serious internet searching to find it and then read all of her friends' as well. It is so morally wrong for a parent to do this to their child and even more so to their child's friends. If a parent feels that they don't know enough about their child's life, then that parent should take the effort they put into finding and reading about their child's life and put it into forming a closer relationship.

haha my parents dont read

haha my parents dont read english...

but seriously though, if you think they read yo shit, then dont post it! and so what if they read some shit about you? its yo life, and you do whatever the fuck you want with it. sure they can get all mad at you and what not, but look at reality, its college. what the fuck do they think you gonna do?

Or just dont have blogs. I personally find them useless and I dont really have time to post shit on it. Get a life!

Then don't post...

Then you shouldn't be posting here... what happened with your life? Huh?

i be just lettin yo ass know

i be just lettin yo ass know what the deal is. and look, i gots more of a life than you do aight, caues you be on them computers too damn much wit yo shits. yous black, yous young, go out there and do somethang. hit up them clubs and get yo crank on yo.

lol

OMG! where have we come too...lol

If you know your're parents

If you know your're parents might even have the slightest chance in your blogs, it's quite simple that you don't post anything about your personal life that you don't want anyone to know about. If you really feel the need to write down stuff about your personal life then try doing Xanga or one of those with personal entries. But not here. So there really is no reason for people to worry or complain. Also, no one probably cares to read about anyone else's life so you shouldn't be posting personal stuff in the first place and there is plenty to write about universal topics.

Appology

I'd like to appologize for what Jin/Anonymous said. He's a little... yeah, I'm sure you've figured it out.
