Trendspotters comin' at ya!
CNN.com has listed the newest college trends of the 2005-2006 school year.
According to this article , "the hottest mode of transportation in sunny schools this fall is the designer bicycle. Most popular in bubble-gum pink, powder blue, and lavender, these bikes have taken over the campus like a swarm of candy-colored locusts." I have seen a few men and women with bicycles on campus but not many. They definitely do provide an efficient way of transportation when you are jetting to a far-away class.
Aside from modes of transportation, footwear this fall is all about the moccasin. From dainty gems to the true, naturalistic style, these comfortable shoes are staples. "Flat moccasins make for great get-to-class-quick duds, while heeled shoes let wearers take a night out on the town without being over-the top. Perfect with jeans and sweater, a skirt or a dress, these shoes should be a standard addition to any fall wardrobe." I have a pair of moccosins that are truly unique; vintage clothing is the best!
Speaking of traveling back through time, Flashdance gear is very trendy. Numerous stores sell off-the-shoulder tees and fancy shirts, but there is nothing like making your own. "This sexy off-the-shoulder look is homemade style when girls take their scissors to what was once an ordinary tee to make it extra-ordinary." Turn on your "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" tape, and you're guaranteed a good time!
AHHH, I've been blinded!... by your purse? Yes folks, it is true. Purses, belts, and clothing has surmounted the mediocre level of normalcy and drifted into the area I like to refer to as "BLING, BLING." "It seems gold and silver sequins adorn most clothing and accessories these days." Glitter catches a shopper's eye, and other people take note of someone wearing these brillant accessories. It's a statement -- "See me, I shine!" I'm loving it!
