Nothing like NYC!

I mean Philly is nice and all, but I think it's a dull city. I've gone during the daytime usually but even then it's sometimes empty looking and I can't even imagine how it must be during the night. Of course there's exceptions if a special event or something is going on it would be really busy, but usually it seems dead.
I went home to Jersey this weekend for my brother's birthday. Saturday night me, him, and a bunch of his friends went to NYC to celebrate. I've gone to the city plenty of times really late but never been out having fun till 6am. That's what I love about NYC...the city that never sleeps. From the time we got there around 11pm till we left, streets were filled with people going out clubbing, eating, shopping. Going out in NYC made me realize how much it really sucks to have Philly nearby and not be nearly as good. Well then again, if it was like NYC then it would be a huge distraction...

I love NYC !!

NYC Stand UP!!!! I Had to put it in... LOL. I love NYC too, I know exactly what you mean, Philly is nice BUT it only goes so far. NYC you don't need to strave if your up late anywhere, because lots of places stay open. Here theres no where to go, places close by 1 am if you lucky.

Give it a chance

Maybe Philly is not as loud and sleepless as NYC but it still has its own advantages. If NYC was nearby I do not think you would have a chance to go there to have fun very often anyway. I agree that it is nice to get out of campus and see different places but you can't have everything close by.
And , maybe, you just need to give Philly a second chance?!It may turn out that it will be one of the most important places in the world for you soon. You may like it later...

First time

I went to NYC two weekends ago for the very first time. My friend and had an AMAZING time. Philly pales in comparison. The hustle and bustle of NYC, both day and night, was invigorating. There was always something to do. I wish I had visited schools in NYC or at least checked out the city. Hopefully, Philly will grow on me.

Did not notice that

Wow, I did not know so many of you think Philly was a dull and pale city. Come on, everyone. Philadelphia is among nation's ten largest cities and it is renowned for the historical facts. We know the American history started in Philadelphia. :)
Philadelphia has many attractions if you give it a little break. I just cannot think of the lists right off my head but there are:
China Town
Philadlphia Orchestra/Concerts
Reading Terminal Market
City Hall
Liberty Bell/Independence Hall
Franklin Institute
Philadelphia Museum of Arts
Penn's Landing
South Street
and many more!
Once you get used to it, you will have plenty of things to do and will love Philli in your heart ;)

Lovin Philly, and BTOWN!!!

Philly is great but i don't think that we take enough advantage of bryn mawr town. BTown is AMAZING. i love it. yay peace a pizza!!! and hope's cookies. :-)

being a jerzey girlie myself

being a jerzey girlie myself I most definitally am bias towards the awesomeness of NYC! No other city can compare. But I dont know if I could go to college in NYC. It is such an overwhelming city plus to do anything is so expensive. Yet I do miss the big apple in all its glory. It is weird to have people call phily "the city". Also in NYC people really never sleep. But in phily it is totally common to find streets that seem empty at around 8 at night. WEIRD!!
