SECRET!!

Everyone who has met me has easily picked up on the fact that I am into sports. I own many nice clothes, but these days I am too lazy to make myself look amazing. I have no one to impress... so I wear my athletic clothes. They are mucho comfy!! I would rather sleep these days than primp for class at an all girls college. In high school, I would wear make-up everyday. Now, I don't wear make-up during the week; I'll wear it to go out on the weekends, but that is it. I really love that change because I don't feel like I need to impress anyone. I am my own person-- you either like me ... or you don't. COMMENT ON THIS!
~~~The secret thing that no one knows about me is that I am a
MARY KAY LADY!
You wouldn't pick any of that up from looking at me these days though. I can be really girly, but I am also a hardcore athlete(SHOUT OUT to my athletic sister LIZA!). I love make-up, and I really love sharing my wisdom about it with other women. Some women I see just want to enhance their appearance, and it's an amazing when I can be a part of heightening a client's self-esteem. Others wish to take better care of their skin with specialized cleansers and moisturizers.
The question is: Has anyone tried Mary Kay??
If so, give me some feedback on it! Do you love it? Do you want to give it a try?? Let me know!! Don't be afraid to learn more about taking care of your skin... it's with you for the rest of your life! HAH! I'm here for you, Bryn Mawr Ladies! xoxo
You definitely don't strike
You definitely don't strike me as a Mary Kay Lady. I, myself, go back and forth on the makeup issue. Now, I'm doing the makeup thing, but for years, I didn't. I think it was because when I was growing up, makeup was expected. And I like to buck expectations. I also lived in the South and it's still true that many women never go anywhere without makeup. I always felt like they were covering something up or just doing it to impress men or felt ashamed about their looks. But I've met enough women now that wear makeup just for themselves. Have you read Naomi Wolfe's book about the makeup industry, The Beauty Myth? It's pretty interesting. I think she's a little heavy-handed and it was written about 10 years ago, but it does give you something to think about.
yeha i totally unnderstand
yeha i totally unnderstand you curly q. I mean i know personally I am an athlete also and I alwas same and tech goddess go back and forth on the make up. I wore it so much the begining of my high school career and then never touched it when i was a jr and senior. Now that I find myself being a frosh again I see myself reverting back to some old habits of wearing makeup. And to be honest it is sort-of confussing me. Being someone who has not worn makeup for such a long time and now to be wearing it again. WEIRD
